No insurance for abortion in gov’t plan

Very soon Congressman Walz will vote on health care reform legislation in Washington, D.C. Under this legislation, H.R. 3200, the federal government would operate a nationwide “public option” insurance plan that would be authorized to cover abortion on demand. The bill would also provide federal subsidies to private insurance plans that cover elective abortions,
The pro-abortion Capps Amendment that was added in the House Energy and Commerce Committee explicitly ratified these pro-abortion effects. The committee rejected the pro-life amendment, which would have removed elective abortion from the scope of government-operated and government-subsidized insurance plans. The residents of the 1st Congressional District need to let Congressman Walz know that they are strongly opposed to the federal government running an abortion-insurance plan, and opposed to government subsidies for private plans that cover elective abortions.
Congressman Walz needs to hear loud and clear that abortion is not health care! You can reach Congressman Walz toll-free at (877) 846-9259.
