Sheriff’s Posse Ride Sunday

The fifth annual Sheriff’s Posse Ride to benefit the American Red Cross will be held. Eight active and one retired sheriff will participate in the ride.
Participants can register for the Sheriff’s Posse Ride online at www.southcentralmn.redcross.org or they can register the day of the ride at Bergdale Harley Davidson in Albert Lea between 8 and 10 a.m. Group rides for each sheriff are scheduled to leave check points at 9 a.m.
Checkpoints in all seven counties will be open until 4 p.m. Riders will receive door prize drawing tickets at each checkpoint. All riders are required to sign a waiver for the event.
This year’s ride ends at Riverside park in downtown Mantorville. A meal will be served by The American Red Cross with a group photo scheduled for 4:30 p.m. in the park. All proceeds from the event go to American Red Cross Chapters throughout the seven county area.
Registration fee for the ride full package is $30 (single rider) or $55 double (rider and passenger). Full packages include the entry fee plus an event T-shirt and pin for each participant as well as a picnic meal served at the end of the ride.
At each checkpoint, there will be T-shirts are available for $10 each and pins for $5 each.
While this ride is billed as a motorcycle ride to benefit the Red Cross, the ride is open to anyone in any vehicle. There is no set number of check points that a participant must go to.
The route can be as long or short as the rider chooses.
Tickets handed out at each checkpoint make participants eligible for door prize drawings at the end of the ride.
All participants are invited to be part of the group photo at the end of the ride.
