Lake Mills couldn’t overcome a fast start from Saint Ansgar Friday in Lake Mills in a 28-13 loss.

The Saints put up 28 first-half points and held on despite a fourth quarter touchdown from the Bulldogs.

Chris Throne caught four passes for 126 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown from Royce Byrnes in the fourth quarter that drew the game to 28-13.

Byrnes went 6-for-19 with 161 yards while Jake Brekken rushed for 46 yards on 12 carries.

Lake Mills (0-3, 0-1) had two turnovers in the game.

Cody Marsh ran for 109 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries for Saint Ansgar.

The Bulldogs travel next Friday to Garner for Garner-Hayfield.
