Dale Moen, 73

Memorial services for Dale James Moen, 73, of Alden, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Assemblies of God Church. The Rev. Lee Freshour will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Dale went to be with Jesus on Sept. 2, 2009, at his home, after dealing with cancer and a stroke. He died peacefully with his family by his side.
Dale James Moen was born on Feb. 24, 1936, to Albert and Ruth (Nyman) Moen in Leith, N.D. Dale grew up on a farm in Leith, N.D., and moved to Glenville as a teen. He attended school in Albert Lea. On May 18, 1957, Dale was united in marriage to Arla Brech in Albert Lea. Dale worked at Wilson & Co. and later worked for the Freeborn County Courthouse in maintenance. Dale was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Albert Lea. He enjoyed camping, going to garage sales and auctions, gardening and keeping up his yard. Dale also enjoyed lending a helping hand to his children whenever needed.
Survivors include his wife, Arla; children: Rick and his wife Kim Moen, Cindy and her husband Don Westland, and Sue and her husband Dave Sanderson; grandchildren: Adam Westland, Heather Lee, Kristin Sanderson, Jessica Sanderson, Kelli Sanderson, Matt Moen, and Nicole Moen; great grandchild, Kylie Lee; in-laws: Jim (Nickie) Brech, Joyce (Darwin) Orris, Dwayne (Pat) Brech, Marge (Paul) Geiger, Kevin (DeLana) Brech and Cheryl Brech.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Casper (Katherine) Moen, Myrtle (Henry) Bruning, Josie (Clarence) Wilking, Irene (George) VanCampen, Agnes (Tony) Moreno, Raymond (Betty) Moen and sister in infancy, Blanche; brother-in-law, Ken Brech; and a great-grandson, Joshua Sanderson, in infancy.
