David Mutschler

David Douglas Mutschler age 55, of Bricelyn, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, in a motor vehicle accident near his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Lutheran Church in Walters. The Rev. Donald Rose will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will be in Rice Lake Cemetery.
David Douglas Mutschler was born March 21, 1954, the son of David and Priscilla (Meyer) Mutschler in Fort Gordon, Ga. On Aug. 1, 1975 he was united in marriage to Carol Obermeyer in Walters.
David graduated from Kiester High school in 1973 and from Mankato Vo-Tech in 1975. He enjoyed camping as often as possible, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, cooking, volunteering, sports, the Minnesota Twins and spending time with family and friends. He especially loved and enjoyed reading stories to his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife Carol; three children: Joe (wife Dawn Lutteke) of Wells, Sarah (husband Trent) Stanton of West Fargo, N.D., and Tim Mutschler of Rochester; four grandchildren: Daniel, Nathan and Lauren Mutschler of Wells, and Helena Stanton of West Fargo, N.D.; parents David and Marge Mutschler of Kiester, and Martin and Mattie Obermeyer of Wells; two sisters: Cathy Mutschler of Arlington, Wash., and Kathy Trytten of Ankeny, Iowa; three brothers: Jim Van Engelenburg of Alden, Terry (wife Betty) Van Engelenburg of Owatonna, and Randy (wife Vicki) Van Engelenburg of New Castle, Colo.; brothers and sisters-in-law: Mark (wife Sharon) Obermeyer of Kiester, Paul (wife Rhoda) Obermeyer of Walters, and John (wife Jessica) Obermeyer of Walters; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Priscilla in 1967; his brother Danny in 1974; and his grandparents.
