Prayer is the key to heaven, but faith unlocks the door. Sound familiar? Well, religion is meant only to bring (reconnect) people to God. It is not meant to bring people to religion. We shall see what the power of prayer can change in our own lives when we give it a go and let God be God. I am not at all sure about steeples splitting apart at the moment the churchwide convention put forth a vote to commit a new church policy on allowing homosexuality among the called to minister to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, but I believe that God has heard the prayers of the penitent and God will hold them up in his hands unto eternity.
