The Lake Mills boys’ cross country team had a pack mentality Tuesday as it opened the season at Mason City Newman.

The Bulldogs had their three top runners within six places of each other while the next three were within 11 places of each other.

Zach Marpe led the team with a time of 19 minutes, 59 seconds, which was good for 46th overall. Cory Aamodt was one spot back with a time of 20:00 while Tim Brandt was 52nd overall with a time of 20:26.

Jacob Sorenson finished 62nd with a time of 21:08 and Casey Tiedman was 36 second back at 69th place. Tyler Dahle finished 73rd in a time of 22:00.

Anna Rogers finished 58th with a time of 19:17. Rogers cut 1:10 offer her time last year and moved 30 spots up the ladder at the 12-team meet.
