Northwestern Singers begin season Monday

The Northwestern Singers will begin the 2009-2010 season on Monday under the direction of Brock Besse.
The January 2010 winter show will feature songs from well-known Broadway musicals. New this year is choreography. Members will have the opportunity to sign up for this during rehearsals.
The Northwestern Singers invites those interested to join the group. This is a diverse group of men and women of all ages from many backgrounds.
The schedule for the upcoming season is:
First Rehearsal: Monday, Sept. 7: 6:30 to 7 p.m. — Pick up music and rehearsal CDs. 7 p.m. — begin rehearsal. Westminster Presbyterian Church, 802 Fourth St. SW, Austin (Use back door).
Standard rehearsals are Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Small groups or specialty numbers may require extra rehearsal time). There will be additional rehearsals two weeks before the January show.
Members will receive the attendance policy at the first rehearsal.
Fall retreat rehearsal: Saturday, Oct. 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Benefit concert: Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. Four or five youth school music groups perform. The NWS perform three numbers.
Winter show: Saturday , Jan. 23, 7 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre.
First Rehearsal-Second Semester: Feb. 1
Spring retreat rehearsal: Saturday, March 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Spring concert: Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, Paramount Theatre
Dues are $30 per semester (fall and spring).
