The funeral service for Roger Wayne Knudson of Geneva will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Ellendale. The Rev. Arne Hallbakken will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Ellendale and one hour before the service at the church. Military honors will be accorded.
Roger died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009. He was 62 years old.
Roger was born Aug. 1, 1947, at Rock Island, Ill., to Donald and Lillian (Smith) Knudson. He graduated from Ellendale High School in 1966 and had lived in the Ellendale area until the last six years when he moved to Geneva. He married Donna Pike on Dec. 15, 2003. Roger was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Ellendale. He worked as a sales man for Guardian Building Products. Roger was a Vietnam Veteran, volunteer fireman and volunteered with the Ellendale ambulance.
Roger enjoyed playing pool and was the President of the pool league. He also enjoyed playing poker and fishing.
Roger is survived by his wife Donna; daughter: Teresa Pratt and husband Jeff of Owatonna; sons: Matt Knudson and his wife Erin of Owatonna, Dan Knudson and his friend Amber of Ellendale; step children: Brandon Borchert and Angela Dobberstein and her husband Brian; grandchildren: Jacob, Ricky and Nolan Pratt, Kiley and Peyton Knudson, Asa Johnson and Jerzy Knudson; step grandchildren: Bennett and Kelly Dobberstein and Emma Carlson; brothers: Alan Knudson and his wife Kathy, and Bruce Knudson and his wife Vickie both of Ellendale and many nieces and nephews.
Roger is preceded in death by his father, Donald, in 1988; and mother, Lillian, in 2007; son, Robby, in 1986; and brother Steven in 2007.
