Sheriff’s Office urges safety

In the past few weeks the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office has received and followed up on numerous complaints regarding out-of-state asphalt companies providing poor service in the quality of the project and in charging an inflated price. Some of the companies have also reported to have signed a blank contract, then the contract is filled out later by the company.

Although these complaints are generally civil in nature, the Attorney General’s Office has been contacted regarding these incidents.

Having these recent events in mind, the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone to never sign a blank contract and to get a second opinion by a local contractor before having any work done.
