On Sept. 11 we will be observing the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. It is the day we remember those who lost their lives and those who today are fighting to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood together against terrorism.

This year you can again show your patriotism by flying a flag, wear a shirt or sweatshirt with a flag on it or wear a flag pin. It’s a good time to share history with your children and grandchildren. Talk about the freedom we take for granted.
