Saturday’s overtime hero Cal Pirisig came to the rescue once again for the Albert Lea boys’ soccer team Tuesday in Faribault.
For the second time in as many games Pirsig scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers (4-7, 1-5 Big Nine).
Pirsig scored three minutes into the second overtime period on an assist from Oscar Hernandez to lift Albert Lea to its second straight overtime win. The Tigers beat Mankato Loyola 2-1 in overtime Saturday.
Faribault scored in the first 10 minutes of the game when Abdinasir Osman found the goal. The Falcons (4-7, 0-5 Big Nine) held the lead through the first half.
But 16 minutes into the second half Lars Gjersvik got a feed from Pirsig and found the back of the net to tie the game.
Albert Lea outshot the Falcons 20-10 and held an advantage seven to five in corner kicks.
