Vikings run over Bearcats

Not many teams can rack up more than 500 yards in a game, but then again few teams have played like the seventh-ranked Northwood-Kensett football team.
The Vikings (3-1, 2-0) had 536 yards of total offense in a 42-7 rout of North Butler Friday in their homecoming game.
Three Northwood-Kensett players rushed for more than 100 yards with quarterback Spencer Capitani rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for another one to Jacob Gordon in the first quarter. Capitani rushed for 116 yards on nine carries while Sam Arnold scored two touchdowns. Jayson Olson rushed for 139 yards and Tyson Werner had 111 yards.
The Vikings had 20 first downs in the game and kept the Bearcats to three.
North Butler also lost three fumbles and threw two interceptions. Dylan Nichter and Torin Newell each had an interception while Tyson Werner led the team with 12 tackles.
The win sets up a big matchup next Friday with Mason City Newman, the fourth-ranked team in Class A.
