The Power 96 Hotel Halloween Carnival will be on the day before Halloween this year.

Parents can bring their children to the Country Inn & Suites in Albert Lea from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. There will be complimentary Halloween bags for the first 200 kids. The event will have candy, popcorn, prizes and decorations.

Local businesses will sponsor and decorate hotel rooms with themes fitting for the Halloween holiday. The visitors get to vote for their favorite room. Plaques will be handed out for first, second and third places.

Firefighters and law officers will be on hand to discuss trick-or-treat safety. Mall of America Family Fun Packs, valued at $168 and featuring passes to MOA attractions, will be given away. Bikes will be given away, too. In all, there are $2,500 in prizes, according to Power 96.
