The following is an update for the Lose It Big Competition for the past two weeks. First, there was the competition held at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds grandstand on Oct. 5 with The Mega Force and Sound Lighting Show there to kick all participants off with “Gonna Fly Now” from “Rocky” by Bill Conti. That pretty much set the tone for the entire 30 minutes keeping all contestants motivated and moving.

All participants completed the challenge with Melissa Henrickson (St John’s Hero’s) taking first. Melissa did 40 full laps up and down the grandstand; second place was Paige Shaw (Albert Lea Seed House Burning Lipids) with 39 laps and Tina Hagen (Alamco A-laminators) took third place completing 28 laps.

Monday Oct. 12 was weigh-in for the contestants. The first place loser for the weigh-in was Reid Olson (Pounds Off) with a 4.48 percent weight loss. The second place loser was Jon Forman (Alamco A-laminators) with 4.24 percent and third place went to Vaughn Ravlin (Alamco’s Catch Us If You Can) with a 3.18 percent loss.
