There will be a meeting to give updates on the progress of the Blazing Star Trail next week.
The meeting is slated to take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Hayward City Hall. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and members of the Blazing Star Trail Joint Powers Board will be on hand for the discussion.
The Blazing Star Trail presently runs from Albert Lea to Myre-Big Island State Park. Plans call for it to cross Albert Lea Lake and reach Hayward, which already has a public restroom built for bikers. The long-term vision for the route is to connect to Austin.
