John Marshall defeated the Albert Lea girls’ swimming and diving team 89-87 Tuesday in Albert Lea.

Karli Kriewall picked up the Tigers’ lone win of the evening in 1-meter diving. Kriewall eked out a 1/2 point win over the Rockets’ Jennifer Anklan. Kriewall scored 195.80 while Anklan scored 195.30.

Gracie Thomas and Morgan Field went 2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Thomas took second in the event with a time of 1 minute, 14.44 seconds and was just behind John Marshall’s Allison Schumaker who finished in 1:13.87. Field clocked a time of 1:15.12.

Galen Schulz had a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle with her time of 57.42. Schulz finish behind Taylor Bass who swam a time of 54.82.

Kemma Bergland and Rachel Gould took third and fourth, respectively in the 200 free event. Bergland finished with time of 2:19.18 and Gould was just off that mark with a 2:19.47 for the Tigers.

Albert Lea swims again next Tuesday against Mankato East in Mankato.
