Funeral services for Glenn Sayles McDaniel, 87, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel. The Rev. Andrea Myers and Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Glenn died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Glenn Sayles McDaniel was born on Feb. 11, 1922, to Curtis and Lena (Anderson) McDaniel in Rose Creek. He graduated from Austin High School. For a short time Glenn drove taxi where he met Marion. On Sept. 9, 1944, Glenn was united in marriage to Marion Knudson at First Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in the Albert Lea area. Glenn worked at Wilson & Co. for 38 1/2 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and the Eagles Club. Glenn enjoyed walking and working on old cars.
Survivors include his wife, Marion; son, Larry McDaniel of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Brooke McDaniel, Jaymi McDaniel and fiancé, Nick Russo; brother, Lloyd McDaniel of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Doris Hollywood of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Curtis and wife Lillian McDaniel; sister, Betty and husband Jim Carney; and daughter-in-law, Debra McDaniel.
