Grand Meadow ends Alden-Conger’s season with 49-28 blowout victory in playoffs

Alden-Conger couldn’t keep Grand Meadow quarterback Caleb Leichtnam under wraps Saturday in a 49-28, season-ending loss in the Section 1, Nine-man playoffs in Grand Meadow.

Leichtnam ran wild against the Knights (5-5) for four touchdowns and threw for another score.

Leichtnam opened the game’s scoring with a 49-yard run in the first quarter as the No. 1 seed Superlarks (9-1) raced out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter. Leichtnam added a 59-yard touchdown pass and touchdown runs of 13, 31 and 1 yards as Grand Meadow blew past Alden-Conger.

“We just couldn’t contain their quarterback,” said Knights head coach Chad Mattson. “He ran like a wild man out there.”

Alden-Conger quarterback Lucas Kleinschrodt threw two touchdown passes to Max Keller and ran for an 8-yard score in the third quarter. Kleinschrodt finished 12 of 29 with 188 yards passing.
