Prescription costs are out of whack

Published 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 25, 2009

I have a prescription for an over-the-counter drug. This last weekend, I got this prescription filled, and I got the generic drug.

My husband also uses this over-the-counter drug. He got his drugs for $2.26.

With my prescription, my exact same drug was $11.32. That’s 501 percent of my husband’s cost. Without the prescription, but because I have a prescription, my drugs were $3.06 (135 percent of my husband’s cost).
