Walking moai still meets this autumn

My neighborhood moai continues to meet on Tuesday evenings to walk. Last night the neighborhood kids took a break from their homework and armed with flashlights they joined us on our weekly walk. It was a beautiful fall evening. The stars were brilliant and spectacular. As the adults visited about the latest goings-on in our lives, the kids took pleasure in jumping out of the darkness to give us an occasional scare.

At the conclusion of our walk we visited about our plans to continue to meet and walk through the winter months. I want to thank my neighbors for being so committed to continue this fun and worthwhile weekly outing.

I also want to encourage previously formed moais to reconnect and make the effort to continue ongoing activities through the winter. If you were not part of a moai this summer, start with a group of neighbors, friends or family. I promise you won’t regret it.
