Gayle Renker, 78

Gayle I. Renker, 78, of Sebring, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, in Punta Gorda, Fla. Gayle was born in Albert Lea. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Emer Peterson.
In 1953, she married Harry J. Renker in Chicago, Ill., and in 1978 moved to Sebring, Fla. Gayle served with the Highlands Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for 26 years and had served as president several times. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where she served as an usher.
She is survived by her loving family, which includes her husband, Harry; son, Michael (Lynn) Renker of Aurora, Colo.; daughters: Sandra Renker of Peachtree City, Ga., Karen LaCombe of Albuquerque, N.M., and Carole (Charles) Surginer of Carrolton, Ga.; brother, Marlyn Peterson of Rochester; a sister, Joyce Peterson of Eagan; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Sebring. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
