Democratic Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak said he started the year with $25,000 in the bank for his gubernatorial campaign, after starting later than most of his rivals.

Rybak is competing with a dozen other Democrats running for governor.

His campaign reported Friday that he raised $138,000 for his gubernatorial campaign in 2009. He spent most of that year running for re-election as mayor, collecting $389,000 for that effort.
