This has been an interesting first year as a Freeborn County commissioner. I have observed, listened and I have learned. As commissioners, our duties are to oversee the county’s obligations, decisions and policy making, to ensure that citizen concerns are met and that federal and state requirements are fulfilled and county operations run smoothly.

As citizens of our county I want you to know that the decisions we make are not easily made and have always been carefully considered by each commissioner. We don’t always vote the same but we are all voting for what we feel is best for our county.

It has been a year of growth and learning for me, and it has been a privilege to serve the citizens of Freeborn County along with the other board members and the county administrator. I look forward to this new year with the knowledge that we are still the greatest nation on Earth and that Freeborn County will always be a great place to call home!
