Building permit totals reflect weather

Winter’s impact on construction is evident in the latest city and county reports.
During January the city of Albert Lea Inspection Department issued six building permits with a total valuation of $268,830.
One of those permits was for a new home on Park Avenue.
At the end of January 2009, the city report showed a building permit valuation of $2,358,230. Most of this amount was for a Cargill project at the 13th Street plant.
The Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued one permit with a valuation of $2,460 during January.
