Middle-of-street snow is troublesome

I attended a funeral visitation at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at 10 a.m. The memorial was for an elderly woman who had many friends and family present. I find it somewhat amiss that the street and sidewalk areas could not have had the snow removed for this service.

Many mourners were elderly and had a difficult time traversing the street because of the large pile of snow in the middle of the street. The snow could have at least been removed from the middle of the street and to the curb.

How difficult it must have been for people to cross the street and travel up to the church door with so much loose snow and slippery areas. I realize there is a lot of snow to be moved but could not this have been made a priority, no matter what church it is being held at? I hope this did not detour any friends and family from coming to the memorial funeral service. That would have been a shame. Thank you for considering this a priority in the future.
