Funeral services for Patricia Ann Solland of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Mrs. Solland died Wednesday morning, Feb. 24, 2010, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 70 years of age.
Patricia was born March 17, 1939, in Berlin Township, Steele County, the daughter of Earl and Anna (Schom) DeRaad. She graduated high school in Albert Lea. On Dec. 31, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ralph Solland in Mason City, Iowa.
Patricia was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea where she was baptized and confirmed. She was employed for many years at the Holiday Inn of Albert Lea and retired from Shopko in 1989.
Patricia enjoyed camping and traveling, playing cards and Yahtzee, spending time with her family and grandchildren, roller skating and dancing.
She is survived by her husband Ralph of Albert Lea; children: Ronald (Pamela) Vokoun of Albert Lea and their children and grandchildren: Tami, Theresa, Tim and Bryana and Isibel, David (Barbara) Solland of Albert Lea, and their children: Stephanie, Megan and Jessica, Brenda (Mark) Ronquist of Waseca, and their children: Cory, MahRyan, Joseph and Elisha. Also surviving are two sisters: Anna Mae Jensen of Nashville, Tenn., and Edna (Leroy) Shocker of Albert Lea; and brother Earl DeRaad and his special friend Dorothy Callahan of Albert Lea. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John DeRaad; and daughter-in-law, Carol Solland.
