Anita Marie Mickelson, 79, of Austin, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea.
Anita was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Albert Lea to John and Emilia (Conterras) Galvan. On Sept. 3, 1960, she was united in marriage to Jerome H. Mickelson in Stewartville. Anita was a retired employee of Land O’Lakes in Albert Lea.
Anita enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. Spending time with her family was her greatest pleasure.
Survivors include two sons: Jerome Jr., San Antonio, Texas, and Todd (Maria) Mickelson, Austin; four grandchildren: Jennifer, Jerome III, Mandie Mickelson and Mollie Mickelson; four sisters: Zoila (Reuben) Calderon, Albert Lea, Judy (Lupe) Gasca, Albert Lea, Rose (Dennis) Olson, Albert Lea and Diane Minear, Glenville.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; parents, John and Emilia Galvan; brother, John Galvan; sister, Sandy Cueller; brother-in-law, Loren Minear.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. There will be a 6:30 p.m. wake service on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church.  Interment will be in the Seventh-day Adventist Church Cemetery in Bath Township.
