Jerry Flatness, 53

Funeral services for Jerry Lowell Flatness, 53, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jerry died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Albert Lea Medical Center following a long battle with leukemia, with the love and support of his family surrounding him.
Jerry Lowell Flatness was born on Nov. 24, 1956, to Glenn and Arlene (Burkart) Flatness in Albert Lea. He grew up in Alden and attended Alden High School. On May 10, 1980, he was united in marriage to Kimberly Throne at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Jerry worked at several different locations throughout his life. He was the manager of Pump N Munch in Albert Lea and most recently was employed at Nielsen Conoco. Jerry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, baseball card collecting, going to rummage sales and the casino. Jerry treasured the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren who meant the world to him. 
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly, of Albert Lea; daughters: April (Justin) Bighley and Hollie Flatness; grandchildren: Jacob Johnson and Luke and Jackson Bighley; father, Glenn Flatness, of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters-in-law: Alan and Julie Flatness of Alden, Dean Flatness, Kent Flatness and special friend Alzada Gulbertson, Arden and Thea Flatness, Lynn Flatness, and Margaret Flatness all of Albert Lea, Renae and David Siefert of Austin, Kevin Throne of Eden Prairie, Craig Throne of Hopkins, mother-in-law Phyllis and Clarence Cox of Albert Lea; many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Flatness; brother, Wayne Flatness; and sister-in-law, Pam Murie.
Jerry will be sadly missed by all of his friends and loved ones.
