Funeral services for Marion L. Hoffman, 87, of Bancroft Estates in Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. The Rev. Jamie Cameron will officiate. Interment will be at the Clarks Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 15, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marion died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Hospice House in Owatonna.
Marion L. Hoffman was born on Jan. 13, 1923 near Harlan, Iowa, daughter of Herman and Neva Nelson and moved to Clarks Grove in 1938. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to J. Ken Hoffman in Clarks Grove on Sept. 12, 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and active in women’s groups. Marion was employed at National Coop, FmHA and Thorne Crest Retirement Community before retiring in 1983. She enjoyed traveling, golfing, hand work and time with family.
Survivors include her three sons: Allan and his wife, Carrie, of Henderson, Nev.; Paul and and his wife, Patti, of Owatonna; Bob and his wife, Laurie, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters Harriet (Buzz) Knudsen and Audrey Paulson, both of Albert Lea; sister-in-law Carol Nelson of Clarks Grove; Ken’s sisters, Gladys Kunter of Fort Collins, Colo., and Dorothy Stroot of Placentia, Calif.; Ken’s brother, Donald (Hallie) Hoffman and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John (Ken); brother, David Nelson; brother-in-law, Russell Paulson and granddaughter, Valerie Hoffman.
