Search warrant results in arrest

Deputies from the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in Clarks Grove about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday that resulted in the arrest of the home’s owner.

Information from a confidential informant had been received several days earlier pertaining to an alleged marijuana-growing operation at a residence in Clarks Grove.

The owner of the residence was at home. The subsequent search discovered several suspected marijuana plants growing with the help of artificial lighting in the home’s basement.

There were also several alleged paraphernalia items as well as bags of suspected marijuana product located in various rooms of this residence.

The owner of the residence was arrested and brought to the Freeborn County Adult Detention Center were he was booked on felony possession of controlled substance crimes. Charges are pending.

Stereos

reported stolen

Albert Lea police are investigating the reported thefts of two stereos from parked vehicles.

The first report came at 9:49 a.m. Thursday from a resident in the 600 block of East Sixth Street where a vehicle had been broken into during the night and the stereo taken.

The second report came later Thursday from a resident in the 1300 block of Frank Avenue where another stereo had been taken from a vehicle.
