Funeral services for Edward Felix Rogers, 90, of Albert Lea will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the Church of St. Theodore with Military Honors accorded by the Freeborn County Veterans organizations. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Edward died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
Edward Felix Rogers was born on Oct. 13, 1919, to Antonio and Ignacia (Vasquez) Rodriguez in Waldo, New Mexico. He grew up in Denver, Colo. Edward served in the United States Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific theater and received the Bronze Star. Edward was united in marriage to Cecilia Luna on Nov. 26, 1960, at St. Mary’s Church in Newry. He was employed at Wilson & Co. for many years in the hog kill. In the 60’s and 70’s he also had a band “Little Eddie and his Orchestra”. He was a member of the Church of St. Theodore, a lifetime member of the VFW and former member of the Musicians Union. Edward enjoyed camping and fishing, going out to eat, especially Chinese. He also enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar, and visiting with family and friends. Edward loved staying busy by volunteering for projects with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Cecilia; daughters: Monica (Mario Sr.) Baltazar, and Teresa (Rodney) Peterson; son, Anthony (Mary) Rogers; grandchildren: Lisa, Teresa, and Cory Rogers, Mario Baltazar, Jr. Robryta, Bailey and Zachary Peterson, Sarah (Nate) Kemmer, Kaitlyn and Allison Rogers; and great-grandchild, Andreya Galindo.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Raymond and Clyde Rogers; a daughter in infancy; and grandson, Cory Peterson.
