The Glenville-Emmons FFA will be holding Ag Safety Day on May 12 at the Glenville high school football field. The FFA is inviting Glenville-Emmons Elementary students to the high school for about an hour and a half. Each class comes but at different times. Members of the FFA are bringing in different agricultural items such as tractors, balers, different farm animals and electric fencing among other things. They will also give a short talk or demonstration on how to use it.
The FFA members will also be teaching the students about safety. They will show students how to operate items safely. The students will also get time to interact with animals and ask FFA members questions.
In 1988 Future Farmers of America’s name was changed to the National FFA Organization. The name was changed because all members don’t necessarily go on to be farmers. They could be involved in other agricultural pursuits or in leadership, which the FFA will help prepare them for.
