Hymnfest raises $2,800 for Haiti relief groups

The Stone Soup Hymnfest to benefit Haiti held on March 21 was a great success. The large crowd really enjoyed joining with the group in singing some of the old hymns. A representative was there from Global Village who had just returned from Haiti. He used both words and pictures to briefly explain the needs of the people there. Everyone was very generous in giving.

With some matching funds from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, there was a total of more than $2,800. The money is going to be divided between Global Village and the United Methodist Committee on Relief. Both of these organizations have little or no administrative costs. Stone Soup would like to sincerely thank everyone who came and contributed to these very worthy causes.
