Janet Ayers, 82

The funeral service for Janet K. Ayers of Albert Lea will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Janet died on Friday, April 9, 2010, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 82 years old.
Janet was born in Blooming Prairie on May 3, 1927, the daughter of Chris V. and Elsie (Wohjan) Miller.
Janet attended Blooming Prairie School. She had lived in Blooming Prairie and Austin before moving to Albert Lea in 1948. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Janet was united in marriage to Kenneth Ayers on July 30, 1963, in Mitchell, S.D.
Janet worked for Wilson & Co. for 31 years. Janet was a lifetime member of the Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed being on the Drill & Ritual Team going to State and National Competitions. She also was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose Lodge and the Freeborn County Snowmobile Association. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and canning, sewing and fishing. She enjoyed being a volunteer for fundraisers, especially for the cancer and heart funds. In her spare time, Janet and Kenny enjoyed traveling.
Janet is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Ayers of Albert Lea; daughters, Bonnie (Jerry) Bolinger of Albert Lea, Connie (Larry) Jacobson of Bemidji; stepchildren: Georgia (Barry) Cordingly of Brainerd, Curtis (Korine) Ayers of Nampa, Idaho, Phyllis (Tim) Hoyt of Brainerd, Laura (Chris) Ebnet of St. Paul; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Harold and Bernard; twin sister, Janice Benson; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
