Police say a man sought in a series of early morning shooting deaths in the Twin Cities committed suicide after a chase in south Minneapolis.
The man shot himself during a police chase on Lake Street during morning rush hour, then crashed his sport utility vehicle about 7:15 a.m. Thursday. He was dead at the scene.
Police say the man was a “person of interest” in a shooting that killed one woman and critically wounded another in north Minneapolis; in the shooting death of a man at a home in Brooklyn Park; and in the shooting death of another man at a residence in Inver Grove Heights.
Police would not say how the three homicides are related. Authorities have not released the name of the person of interest or his hometown, and will not say if he was in contact with police. The victims’ names also have not been released.
