Philip Swenson earns master’s degree in astronautical engineering

Capt. Philip H. Swenson., U.S.A.F., graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology on March 25 with a master of science degree in astronautical engineering. The Air Force Institute of Technology is located on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. AFIT is the Air Force’s graduate school of engineering and management as well as its its institution for technical professional continuing education. 2010 marks AFIT’s 90th anniversary.
Swenson is a 1999 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Minnesota. He is the son of Casey and Peggy Swenson. He is now assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office in Chantilly, Va.
Locals named to Bemidi State dean’s list
Bemidji State University has released its fall 2009 semester dean’s list.
To be included, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.25 or better.
Included from Albert Lea were: David Everhard, 414 Lynnwood Drive; Brandon Overland, 1926 Lincoln Ave. S.; and Elliott Light, 1613 Canary Drive.
