For the fifth year, the Ruble family will be participating in the Twin Cities Walk for Parkinson’s Disease. The walk is sponsored by the Parkinson Association of Minnesota, a nonprofit chapter affiliate of the National Parkinson Foundation. To check the website, click on http://www.parkinsonmn.org.
The walk will be held on May 1 at Wolfe Park, 3700 Monterey Drive, St. Louis Park. People may register at www.parkinsonmn.org or beginning at 9:30 a.m. the day of the walk. Wolfe Park is a rather small park with trails and a stream running through it. There will be food treats and prizes donated by Twin Cities businesses.
The Ruble family walk in honor of their husband, father and grandfather, Glenn Ruble, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1998.
Parkinson’s disease is a devastating disease with no known cause or cure. The funds raised go toward improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson’s disease through community building, advocacy, increasing public awareness and research.
The Ruble family welcomes anyone who wishes to join them in this effort with contributions as well as their presence, if possible. Checks should be made out to Parkinson Association of Minnesota.
Anyone with questions or who wishes to send a contribution may contact Kim Gooden at 64609 120th St., Emmons, 56029 (297-5591); or Maureen Ruble, 72778 County Road, 46, Albert Lea, 373-1808.
