Memorial services for Thomas “Tom” V. Lehto of Clarks Grove will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Loomis and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church.
Tom died unexpectedly on Monday, April 26, 2010. He was 39.
He was born on June 28, 1970, in Menomonee Falls, Wis., the son of Richard and Mary (Fitzgerald) Lehto. He attended Albert Lea High School.
Tom was a heavy equipment operator, had served as a volunteer EMT and First Responder. He enjoyed involvement in the Big Island Rendezvous and the Freeborn County Bike-A-Thon, worked on security for several area events and was active in the ham radio club. He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards.
Tom is survived by his family, parents: Richard and Mary Lehto; brother, William R. Lehto of Hayfield; sister, Catherine Lehto of Hines; nephews: Michael (Stormy) Erickson of Richmond, Va., and James Erickson of Effie; aunts: Catherine Fitzgerald of Eden Prairie and Teresa Fitzgerald of Plymouth; the Loomis family and will be greatly missed by a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John R Lehto; grandparents: Ernest and Flora Lehto and Richard and Viola Fitzgerald and an uncle, Robert Lehto.
