Albert Lea senior Jordan Mondeel and junior Cole Sorenson combined for six hits, four triples and eight RBIs as the Tigers rallied for a 13-4 victory against Austin Thursday in Austin.
Mondeel went 4-for-4 with two triples and three RBIs and Sorenson went 2-for-4 with two triples and five RBIs as Albert Lea (6-2, 5-2 Big Nine) rallied from a 4-0 deficit to beat the Packers.
Tigers senior Colby Strilaeff scattered eight hits and struck out six in seven innings of work for the victory and did not give up a walk.
“It was nice to see us rebound and go with the pitch the second time through,” said Albert Lea head coach Joe Sczublewski.
The Tigers broke the game open with a six-run third inning and added two in the sixth and five in the seven in tallying 10 hits.
Albert Lea plays Rochester Century Tuesday in a doubleheader at Hayek Field.
