Travel Class of Albert Lea met for its annual prayer breakfast at the home of Marlene Behle on March 15. Co-hostesses were Jane Colby and Lu Callstrom. Eleven members attended.
The business meeting was conducted by President Muriel Sargent. She reported that 150 children’s books were delivered in December to the Salvation Army Christmas Store and 61 books were recently donated to Family Services. With March being Minnesota Food Share Month, it was voted to give $562 to the Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church.
The program was titled “Favorite Hymns.” Callstrom read a narrative about seven chosen hymns, giving background information as to why each was written. The group sang the first verse of each hymn, accompanied on the piano by Shirley Chryst.
