Volunteer fair is Thursday

Published 10:10 am Wednesday, April 21, 2010

The volunteer fair at Northbridge Mall from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday celebrates the efforts of Freeborn County volunteers. More than 22 community businesses have offered rewards to the county’s volunteers. Seven have provided door prizes, including tickets to Chanhassen Dinner Theatres provided by KATE/KCPI radio.

The volunteer fair features exhibits from more than 15 agencies and organizations showcasing the many options for volunteering as well as local entertainment and prizes. Bring a friend who is looking for a way to connect skills and interests to give back in the area. New this year will be the Medical Reserve Corps and Reading Corps.

Organizations and agencies in Freeborn County have joined together to form an organization of volunteer managers and leaders called CLOVE, the Council of Local Organizations for Volunteer Effectiveness. This working group supports local volunteers who generously give their time and talents in the more than 70 volunteer tasks and activities.
