Albert Lea deserves a true spring break

Albert Lea Senior High School needed and deserved a true spring break. Three days for an “Easter break” just didn’t suffice.
During spring break families tend to go on extended vacations or visit other members of their families. Teens also enjoy road trips and beach bungalows with their friends. By giving the school only three days off, without even actually calling it any form of “break,” none of these things could be successfully carried out. The lack of free time, as it were, had put students in delicate positions if family plans required them to miss school. The three days off actually seemed to harm more people than it did help.
However this may even out with the planned extended summer break. Though we may not get exactly what we wanted, I don’t think anyone will be complaining once we’re in those extra days of amazing weather.
A longer spring break was needed at our school, but I only wish we had it. Hopefully, next year this schedule won’t be so questioned.
