Arc Freeborn County’s 11th annual Bowl-a-thon Fundraiser on April 10 was a great success. Fifty participants raised more than $3,700 for programs for people with developmental disabilities. We would like to express our gratitude to the many generous people who made it possible. A special thank you goes to our major sponsors: Walmart, Nancy VanderWaerdt State Farm Insurance, Al Weisert and Hy-Vee Food Store, Cliff Wuerflein American Family Insurance, South Country Health Alliance and KATE/KCPI Radio.
Hats off to these businesses and individuals who helped with prizes and cash donations: Applebee’s, Arby’s, Hardees, Dairy Queen, Home Depot, Karl’s Carquest, Lenore Fries, Lynnette Hendrickson, McDonald’s, NAPA, Pizza Ranch, Taco John’s, Trails Travel Center, Trophy Showcase, Trumbles and Wendy’s.
Thank you to those who helped with refreshments and to those who gave the valuable gift of their time the day of the bowl-a-thon: Angela West, Cheri Thofson, Clarice Dempewolf, David Wentzel, Denny Lowe, Elaine Warner, Lynnette Hendrickson and Mary West.
Special recognition goes to Kevin Kvenvold for his help in soliciting donations and prizes. We are grateful to KATE Radio and the Albert Lea Tribune for their help with publicity, and a big thanks goes to Holiday Lanes for their wonderful support.
And finally, we’d like to thank all the bowlers who worked so hard to raise pledges, and to all those who pledged and sponsored a bowler. Your support is very much appreciated.
