Bulldogs split DH with Rockford

The Lake Mills baseball team split its doubleheader Wednesday with Rockford in Rockford.
The Bulldogs (2-1) dropped the first game 7-6 in five innings after the Warriors pushed the winning run across in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Lake Mills took an early 3-0 lead, but Rockford rallied for five runs in the bottom half.
The Bulldogs tied the game in the second, but the Warrior regained a 6-5 lead in the third inning. Lake Mills again tied it in the fourth 6-6.
The Bulldogs committed four errors in the first game, but rebounded in the second game.
Lake Mills tallied 12 hits and put up eight runs in the second inning to make up for a disappointing loss in the first game.
Alex Grunhovd got the victory after he allowed three runs, one earned, on four hits. Grunhovd struck out five and walked two.
Drey LyBarger went 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Chris Throne finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Tyler Rice went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Royce Byrnes had two hits and an RBI.
Lake Mills plays Central Springs Thursday in Manly.
