A burglary was reported at Legend’s Bar, 712 Marshall St., at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to police reports. Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said the burglar gained access to the building through the roof, broke into the pull-tab machine and took the gambling proceeds.
This is the second break-in reported at a bar in the last week. The first one was reported at the South Side Pub, 1119 S. Broadway Ave., early Saturday morning.
In that instance, entry was made through the front door, according to the police report.
The intruders then broke into several vending machines, removed three flat panel televisions, and took an undetermined amount of cash.
Winkels said police do not know if the two burglaries are related; however, officers were out checking the doors of all the city bars overnight Tuesday to be safe.
