Dan Dorman, executive director of the Albert Lea Economic Development Agency, announced Thursday that a groundbreaking and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, in the new I-35/I-90 Business Park located near Interstate 35 and East Main Street in Albert Lea.
This ceremony launches the construction of 777th Avenue in the business park.
The construction of 777th Avenue is the result of grants from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the State of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, which were awarded to ALEDA and the city of Albert Lea in August of last year.
ALEDA has been working on developing the I35/I90 Business Park since it acquired the land in 2007.
According to ALEDA Board President Ellen Kehr, “The Business Park offers superior access to I-35 and I-90, and the construction of 777th Avenue is a great shot in the arm for our development efforts.”
Construction on 777th Avenue will begin as soon as possible with a completion date in late 2010.
