Irene Stadheim

The Funeral Service for Irene V. Stadheim, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Irene died on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Thorne Crest Retirement Community.
She was 99. She was born on June 1, 1910, in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Ford and Carrie (Nelson) Miller. Irene was baptized by the Rev. Earle Shields at the Methodist Church in Austin.
Irene graduated from Austin High School in 1927. She was united in marriage to Orville Stadheim on June 29, 1940, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Irene had worked at Hormel in Austin for 12 years and Wilson & Co. in Albert Lea for two and a half years. She was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church where she had served on the Altar Guild and had worked many years on funerals and weddings. Irene enjoyed working on flowers and playing the organ by ear.
She is survived by sister’s-in-law: Altine (Stadheim) Johanson and her husband Armand of Bloomington, Marilyn (Stadheim) Renne of Edina, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1994, her sister Mrs. Gladys Palo, three brothers, Orvie, Howard and Harold and a brother and sister in infancy.
