Lake Mills’ Tiedman medals to advance to district meet

Lake Mills’ Casey Tiedman secured a berth to the district tournament Friday by winning medalist honors at the Class 2A sectional tournament at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion, Iowa.
Tiedman shot 80 and went to a sudden death playoff with Eagle Grove’s Connor Tomke to determine the outright medalist. Tiedman won on the first playoff hole.
The Bulldogs finished sixth overall with a 388 and Eagle Grove won the meet with a 335. Clarion-Goldfield took second with a 355, West Fork finished third with a 362, Fort Dodge St. Edmond shot 364, and Pocahontas shot 367.
Tim Brandt shot 89 for Lake Mills while Tanner Fjelstad shot 109 and Alex Tenold finished with a 110.
The district tournament begins May 21 at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
