Loyola pulls ahead of USC softball with sixth-inning rally

Mankato Loyola broke a tie in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 3-1 victory over the United South Central softball team Monday in Mankato.
The Crusaders (11-2, 7-0 Gopher) started the bottom of the sixth with a leadoff double and scored the game-winning run on a Rebels error and later added an insurance run.
Junior Tayla Sunde drove in the lone USC run in the sixth inning when senior Carly Peterson, who reached on an error, came into score.
The Rebels (8-3, 4-3 Gopher) finished with three hits against Loyola starter Laura Michaletz, who struck out 10 and walked none in seven innings.
USC junior Ali Ramsley was equally effective. Ramsley walked none, struck out four and allowed just one earned run on four hits in six innings.
